3188 Villa Avenue Rendering Courtesy of DOE FundVilla House, a ten-story affordable housing building by The Doe Fund, has received its Temporary Certificate of Occupancy. Located at 3188 Villa Avenue in Bedford Park, The Bronx, the development will yield 68 units of affordable and supportive housing. Additional partners in the development process include the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, NYC Housing Authority, the Corporation for Supportive Housing, and NYC Human Resources Administration.
Villa House will serve formerly homeless individuals as well as individuals and households on the NYCHA waitlist from the neighboring community. Residences include 60 studios and eight one-bedroom units. Forty-one units will be reserved for formerly homeless individuals and the remaining 27 units will allocated to those on the NYCHA waitlist.
“This residence will provide shelter from the storm for individuals and families struggling to escape homelessness and poverty,” said John McDonald, executive vice president at The Doe Fund. “With comprehensive onsite social services, tenants will have access to the support they need to live with dignity and stability.”
Supportive services include employment training, job preparedness, health care access, drug/alcohol prevention services, and case management. Residential amenities include an outdoor garden in the rear, a community room, a bike storage, a shared laundry room, 24-hour security, and energy-efficient appliances.
3188 Villa Avenue was designed by DeLaCour Ferrara & Church Architects.
Chase Community Development Banking, a leading investor in developing communities and neighborhoods, financed construction. Other key project partners include NYC Housing Preservation and Development, NYC Housing Authority, the Corporation for Supportive Housing, and NYC Human Resources Administration.
